Altacet® tablets are a self-prepared medicine that contains aluminum acetartrate. This active substance of the drug is distinguished by its ability to reduce tissue swelling caused by contusion or other joint damage. Altacet additionally has an astringent effect, which visibly reduces tissue swelling and discomfort in the area of inflammation. When Altacet tablets are applied topically to the skin, the aluminum acetartrate denatures proteins in the area of irritated skin lesions, helping to reduce exudate and inflammation.
Additionally, Altacet tablets contain menthol, which gives the product a characteristic scent and provides a cooling sensation when applied to the skin. Altacet is available without a prescription. The prepared substance should be placed directly on the painful areas 3-4 times a day, only for a short period of time and strictly following the manufacturer's recommendations.
